Mrs. Zolla Taylor Gaddis, age 91, of Turtletown, TN passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Ducktown, TN. Mrs. Gaddis was born in Polk County, TN on September 23, 1918 to the late Thurston Curby Taylor and Alma Hensley Taylor. She was a homemaker and member of Turtletown Baptist Church. Besides her parents, Mrs. Gaddis was preceded in death by her husband Ulyss Gaddis; brothers, Windom Taylor and Leon Taylor; and a sister, Evelyn Johnson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn G. and James Payne of Turtletown, TN, Shirley G. and Johnny Thompson of Luling, Louisiana; brother, Lowell Taylor of Ducktown, TN; sisters, Joy Walker of Bristol, TN and June Rogers of Harrison, TN; grandchildren, Carolyn Thompson, Denise Payne Cole, Douglas E. Thompson, and James Payne, Jr.; and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Paul Ray Harper and Rev. John Beeler officiating. Music was by Kelly Kimsey and Patricia Adams. Pallbearers were Todd Taylor, Matt Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Michael Rogers, Donnie Johnson, Tim McArthur, Ronnie Hensley, and Darren Kimsey. Honorary escort were Steve Kimsey, Derrick Kimsey, Neal Pickelsimer, Nathan Pickelsimer, Chris Harper, Leslie Nicholson, Keith Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Roger Hampton, and David Goode.
