Mrs. Zell Marie Woody Bruce, age 91, of Morganton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 in Morganton at her home, surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born on June 23, 1933 in Suches, Georgia to the late Ernest William Woody and Jewell Marie Davenport Woody.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wrex Ressell Bruce; and siblings, Iva Jean Woody and Edward James Woody.

Mrs. Zell is survived by her beloved children, Sheila Bruce Morgan (Tom), Stanley Bruce, and Scarlett Bruce; grandchildren, Greg Walker, Dennis Walker, Derrick Walker, Shane Morgan, and Erik Morgan (Casey); six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and brother, John Lenton Woody.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Minister Butch Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Hill Church Cemetery. The family visited with friends at the Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge, Georgia on Sunday afternoon prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service hour of 3:00 p.m.
