Zackary Don Nicholson, age 25, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born on November 22, 1999, in Dalton, Georgia. Zackary was a beloved son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Zack was of the Baptist faith, and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He lived his life with a deep love for the outdoors and his family. Zack had a passion for fishing, hunting, and spending time in the mountains. Whether casting a line into the water or simply walking through the woods, he found peace and joy in nature.

His love for sports was also evident in his athleticism, particularly his dedication to baseball. He was a natural athlete and excelled in the sport, having played travel baseball and earned a place in the Little League World Series twice. He was a proud member of the Fannin County High School fishing team, graduating in 2018.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donnie Ray Nicholson; and grandparents, Rev. Reed and Eula Mae Nicholson and Rev. Ray and Merlene Hughes.

Zack is survived by his mother, Stephanie Nicholson; sister, Hillary Nicholson (Brandon Fontaine); a host of several aunts, uncles, other family members, and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Grayson Jones and Rev. Adam Hughes officiating. Special music was provided by Stacey Deal. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Dalton Tankersley, Larry Tankersley, James Hughes, Bryson Hughes, Blake Hughes, and Alton Hughes. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, December 7, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
