Yvonne Bernice O'Neal, age 83, of McCaysville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of the family and friends who meant so much to her.

She was born on August 21, 1943 in Jasper, Georgia to the late Hoyt and Ethel Fendley Qualls. Yvonne attended Macedonia Baptist Church, and her faith was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life. Yvonne treasured the years she spent working at Imerys Marble and Speedburger, both places that held many special memories for her.

Yvonne enjoyed riding, shopping, thrifting, and eating a good hamburger. More than anything, Yvonne loved being with family and friends, and was rarely happier than when she was surrounded by people she cared about.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shannon Cordell; and aunt, Annie Fendley.

Yvonne is survived by her beloved husband, Newell O'Neal; son, Ashley Cordell; daughter, Amberly Biles; grandchildren, Brighton Biles, Cohen Biles, Nick Cordell, and Caleb Wigley; and sister, Becky Denney.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Joey Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper, Georgia with the following serving as pallbearers: Shane Biles, Will Denney, Danny Ensley, Wesley Payne, Kevin O'Neal, and Guinn O'Neal. The family will visit with friends at the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, Georgia on Wednesday evening, August 26, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
