Mr. Winfred Powell,better known as Bill age 92, of Dalton, GA passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Morningside Assisted Living Facility in Dalton, GA. Mr. Powell was born in Gordon County, GA on September 21, 1919 to the late Firman L. Powell and Jessie Padgett Powell He was Office Manager for the State of Georgia Labor Office, was a member of Blue Ridge Church of Christ, and was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Ann Powell of Dalton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Frank & Linda Powell of Dalton, GA; two grandchildren, Kip (Cathy) Powell and Shannon (Tim) Britton; and four great grandchildren, Tyler Britton, Clay Britton, Elizabeth Powell, and Sydney Powell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Min. Lonnie Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Burnette, Bill Walden, Billy Johnson, Steve Powell, Kip Powell, and Tim Britton. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park.
