Winfred Allen, age 71, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Allen was born in Isabella, TN on August 22, 1937 and was the son of the late Ellard and Flora Ware Allen. He was a retired drill operator with Tennessee Copper Company and was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Cross Allen in October of 2002. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Renee Allen of Copperhill, TN, Joe and Frances Allen of Copperhill, TN, Andy and Twila Allen of Chattanooga. TN and Mike and Michelle Allen of Soddy Daisy, TN; sisters, Pat Prince of Copperhill, TN, Edna Barnett of Murphy, NC, Marie Bryant of Mineral Bluff, GA and Marjorie Anderson of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Holly Allen, Nathan Allen, Elijah Allen, Benjamin Allen, Chris Neal and Sarah Allen also survive.Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Evangelist Dale Scarborough officiating. Music was by Evangelist Dale Scarborough and Linda Carroll. Pallbearers were Ricky Allen, Joe Allen, Andy Allen, Mike Allen, Tim Jones and Chris Neal. Honorary pallbearers were Short Loudermilk, Louis Anderson and Manker Allen. Interment followed in the Macedonia "Wolf Creek" Church Cemetery.
