Willie James Green, age 69, of Copperhill passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Willie was born on November 16, 1954 in Maryville, TN to the late James Green and Elsie Caylor Green. He worked for many years as a janitor for the Polk County School System.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Hicks Green and Melvin Green; and sisters, Mary Ann Brown and Elizabeth Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Monnie Green; sons, Samuel "Buddy" Chambers, Scotty J. Chambers, Timothy Olen Chambers, and Willie Chambers; grandchildren, Jordan (Kain) Linderman, Jesse Chambers, Virginia Chambers, and Isaac Chambers; great-grandchildren, Ezlynn Linderman, Ezme Linderman, and Jonathan Lee James Chambers; brother-in-law, Todd Brown; nephew, David Green; niece, Pam Urse; K-9 companion, Rocket; and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Glen Stiles officiating. Music was provided by Amanda Stiles, Drew Payne, and Jesse Chambers. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willie Chambers, David Green, Rodney Sawyer, Rick Boring, Nathan Smith, and Gary Carr. Honorary pallbearers were: Charles Clayton, Sid Jory, Ben Jory, Isaac Chambers, Steve Boring, Paul Ray White, and Elijah Smith. The family visited friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from noon until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to help defray final expenses.
