Abercrombie
April 17, 1927 – May 10, 2025
Willie Easter Abercrombie, age 98, passed away Saturday evening, May 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Easter Sunday in 1927, a daughter of the late Cass and Zenobia Ledford Davenport.
Willie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Hobert Abercrombie; brother, Reid Davenport; sisters, Helen Davenport, Lois Davenport, Imogene Dover, Joann Miller, and Patsy Beaver; daughter-in-law, Wanda Abercrombie; and granddaughter, Hannah Abercrombie.
Willie was a loving and faithful wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to all. She was a lifelong member of O'Zion Baptist Church, and led a Christian life of love and sacrifice for others that will live on in her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Troy Abercrombie; daughter, Theresa (Rick) Stepp; grandchildren, Marcus (Candy) Abercrombie, Zachary (Jennifer) Stepp, and Rachel (Greg) Howard; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Abercrombie, Macayla Abercrombie, Addison Abercrombie, Greyson Abercrombie, Jeremiah Bell, Ethan Stepp, Jonas Stepp, and Audrey Howard. Willie also leaves many other beloved family members and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Billy Cantrell, Rev. Max Curtis, and Rev. Jo Dan Wilkins officiating. Interment followed in the O'Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Pope officiating. The following served as pallbearers: Mack Dover, Billy Dover, Michael Beaver, Marcus Abercrombie, Mitch Dover, and Zachary Stepp. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Hubert Stewart, Hugh Davenport, and Tommy Herndon. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning, prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Flowers are welcome, and memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Abercrombie may be made to O'Zion Baptist Church at P.O. Box 2536, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
