Mr. William Henry White, age 87, of Farner, TN passed away on Thursday April 1, 2010 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born in Rhea County, TN he was the son of the late Luke and Lavada Thomas White. Mr. White served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a Truck Driver for Parks West. Survivors include his wife Alene Bell White of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Ray and Diane White of Turtletown, TN; daughters and son-in-laws, Henrietta and Hugh Wallace of Morganton, GA Jenny and David Smith of Acworth, GA and Diane and Ronald Prince of Hiram, GA; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday April 3, at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Farris Reid officiating. Music was by Clyde Rose, Teresa Chastain, and Tina Taylor. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Steve Adams, Tom Adams, Roger Hampton, Roger Thomason, Clyde Raper and David Taylor.
