William Earl Thrasher, age 84, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born on March 30, 1934 in Blue Ridge, GA. He was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church, where he has spent 36 years as a Deacon and was a member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #67F&AM. He loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard in pristine condition. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Thrasher and Flora Thomas Thrasher, and daughter, Robin Thrasher. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margie Green Thrasher; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Terry and DeAnna Thrasher; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Evie Thrasher.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm from New Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Green, Rev. Gerald Payne, and Rev. Gary Patterson officiating. Music was provided by the New Antioch Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tim Messer, Tyler Messer, Brady Stanley, Jarrod Stanley, Cliff Blair, Dale Blair, Cainaan Patterson, and James Hyatt. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Fox, Darrell Stewart, Matthew Davenport, Shannon Adams, Greg Ledford, Jim Dickey, Rev. James R. Galloway, Gary Stanley, and Franklin Green.
