Mr. William "Bill" Clyde Thomas, lover of Jesus Christ, age 88, of Epworth, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on August 26, 2019. He was the son of the late Clyde Lewis and Dorothy Adeline Gilliam Thomas. A lifetime member and active elder of Calvary Church where his dear friend Rev. John Kilpatrick served as Pastor, he personally witnessed many miracles through prayer. He worked as an insurance adjuster and specialized in the art of furniture restoration. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was also preceded in death by his sisters and their spouses Amelia (Bill) Pittman and Dorothy Mae ( Powell) Hoover. He is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, Mrs. Joyce Davis Thomas of the home; daughters Kimberly (Van) Williams of Blue Ridge ,GA, Karla (Sam) Snider of Ellijay, GA, Krystie (Anthony) Daves of Talking Rock, GA, and Kerrie (Barry) Touchstone of Rome, GA; brother Donald (Barbara) Thomas and sisters Ramona Seabolt and Doris (Ron) Hartness of McCaysville, GA; grandchildren Joshua Thomas (Caitlin) Snider, David Lee (Megan) Snider, Abigail Cressie Williams, Emma Suebeth Williams, Alexandra Faith Daves, Judah Everett Touchstone, Audrey Isabella Grace Daves, Hannah Kate Touchstone and Rebekah Faith Touchstone; great grandchildren Luke Thomas Snider, Bonnie Elizabeth Snider and William Graham Snider; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday , August 30, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Van Williams and Sam Snider officiating. Worship will be led by his family. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Epworth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes or Wounded Warrior Project.
