Mr. William Floyd, better known as "Bill" Rogers, a loving husband, father and grandfather of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home. Mr. Rogers was born in Fairmount, GA on January 29, 1932 to the late Stanhope Rogers and Mabel Waller Rogers. He was a member of Mineral Bluff Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Chemical Leman. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara N. Rogers of Mineral Bluff, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Ava Rogers of Blue Ridge, GA and Dave and Ginger Rogers of Epworth, GA; daughter, Shelly Rogers Lance of Blue Ridge; brother, George Rogers of Chico, CA; sister, Patty Bouchard of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Nancy Buchanan of Mineral Bluff; 5 grandchildren, Cody Lance and his wife Brittany, Kelly Lance, Carson Lance, Jeb Rogers, and Neil Rogers and his wife Cynthia. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Pallbearers were Cody Lance, Carson Lance, Jeb Rogers, Neil Rogers, Jimmy Nichols, and Bobby Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Buchanan, Jimmy Roper, Larry Roper, Rick Roper, Johnny Roper, Roger Roper, and Tony Roper. Interment followed in Toccoa Church Cemetery.
