Mr. William "Bill" Harold Postell, Sr., age 81, of Blue Ridge passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mr. Postell was born in Fannin County on March 9, 1940 to the late John McKinley Postell and Jane McArthur Postell. He had worked for the Tennessee Copper Company and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an Engineer Technician. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Oliver Postell; and siblings, Burlin Postell, Jesse Postell, Arvil Postell, Ella Mae Williamson, and Georgia Postell. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Johnnie Ann Postell; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Lynn Postell; grandchildren, Trey (Katie Rose) Postell and Wesley Postell; and great grandchildren, Claire Postell and Deacon Postell. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Postell officiating. Interment followed in the Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Arnold Postell, George Watkins, David Postell, Jimmy Davenport, Tadd Postell and Daniel Schuller. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in memory of Bill Postell to the Community Fund of West Georgia - Sam Postell Scholarship Fund at 807 South Park Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
