Obituary

Mr. William Curtis Porter, age 60, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011. Curtis was born in Copperhill, TN on June 19, 1951 to the late Luther and Louise Conley Porter. He was employed with Sisson Log Homes as a building supply delivery truck driver. Curtis was a muscle car enthusiast and collector. He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Margaret Stepp Porter of Blue Ridge, GA; step-son, Christopher Brooks of Gainesville, GA; step-daughter, Kimberly and husband, Stacy Pack of Jasper, GA; sister, Frankie and husband, Don Hughes of Murphy, NC; mother-in-law, Rosell Stepp of McCaysville, GA; two sisters-in-law; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Darrell Shook officiating. Music was by Rev. Rusty Thomas. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Charlie Sisson, Bruce Sisson, Freddy Ballew, Glenn Davenport, Kennon Davenport and Jeff Harkins. Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Turner, Junior White and Lonis Dillard. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
