William Harrison Norton, age 68, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in Blue Ridge, GA. Mr. Norton was born on October 21, 1950 in Blue Ridge, GA. He worked as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Elbert Norton and Hazel Verlie Burnette; a daughter, Melissa Lynn Cordell; a stepson, Stacey Paul Dunn; brothers, Haden (Pudgy) Norton, Buddy Norton, and Horace Norton; and a sister, Bonnie Norton. He is survived by his wife, Bangel Norton of Blue Ridge; sons, Billy Joe Norton of Murphy, NC; brothers and sister-in-law, Billy and Dorothy Norton and Kenny Norton, all of Blue Ridge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonita and Gary Mashburn of Ellijay, Wanda and Richard Maye of Lafayette, GA, Hazel Martin of Blue Ridge and Teresa Norton; four grandchildren, Isiah Cordell, Molly Cordell, Heaven Cordell, and Hannah Norton. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Thomas Payne and Rev. Kenny Hagin officiating. Music was by Kevin O'Neal and Taylor Richmond. Pallbearers were Isiah Cordell, Yoshigah Anderson, Billy Joe Norton, Kevin O'Neal, Waylon O'Neal, and Jim Norton. Interment followed in Patterson Cemetery.
