Mr. William "Richard" Locke, age 75, of Copperhill, TN passed away on March 29, 2015 at his home. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late William and Mary Waters Locke. Richard worked many years and retired as a foreman with the Tennessee Chemical Company and later had worked for Mohawk Industries for a number of years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Copperhill Masonic Lodge and a 32 Degree Mason.One son also precedes him death, Mr. Winston Robert "Robbie" Locke.Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Betty Deal Locke; sons, Richard and wife Rhonda Locke of Epworth, GA; Wendell Locke of McCaysville, GA, Eddie M. Verner of Copperhill, TN and Scott and Tonya Michelle Verner of Ol Fort, TN; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Rhoda and Rev. Lloyd Deal, Ethel Howard, Essie Rymer, and Margaret and Ronald O'Neal all of Copperhill; and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.A private memorial service was held in honor of Mr. Locke with Rev. Melvin O'Neal and Rev. Jimmy Payne officiating. Interment followed later in the Mount Zion (Tumbling Creek) Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
