William Hayward Jones, age 68, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home in Blue Ridge. Born on December 15, 1948 in Wyandotte, MI, he was the son of the late Hayden Young Jones and Clara Ruth Bearden Jones. He was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army. He was a talented musician who loved playing guitar and banjo. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell H. Jones, Sr.He is survived by nephew, Russell H. Jones, Jr. and wife Jennifer; nieces Wendy Holloway and Debbie Sylvester; great nieces and nephews, Michael Jones, Jonathan Jones, Holly Jones, Taylor Gibbs, Madison Buchanan, Kevin Buchanan, De and Donna.Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Min. Terry Stuart officiating. Music was provided by Jim Wright. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Jones, Jonathan Jones, Kristen Weaver, Donnie Gilliam, Christian Gilliam, and Charles Holloway. Donation may be made to help defray final expenses.
