William "Bill" Posey Henson, age 90 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, TN. He was born on Saturday, June 7, 1924, in Fannin County, GA to the late William Arthur and Mary Magaline Magnus Henson. Mr. Henson was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Hardscrabble Road in Mineral Bluff, GA. He was a foreman in the copper smelting department at Cities Service Corp. Mr. Henson was a combat veteran in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Buchanan Henson.Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kathy Henson of Epworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Kim Corn of McCaysville, GA; sister, Ruth Newton of Blue Ridge, GA; four grandchildren, Ryan Henson, Samantha Henson, Crystal Chiang and Korey Kolberg; four great grandchildren, Liam Henson, Izora Kolberg, Orin Kolberg and Zelda Kolberg also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Hardscrabble Road, Mineral Bluff with the Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Eulogy was by David Henson. Music was provided by John Chastain. Military Honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Henson, Dennis Gibbs, Don Gibbs, Gene Henson, Homer Henson and Rick Hyatt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Newton, Ronny Twiggs, Charlie Couch, Mann Patterson, Shihlin Chiang, Doug Newton, Scott Cheatham and Arlin Bell.
