William Charles "W.C." Grant, age 87 of Blue Ridge passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1936 in Decatur. W.C. was a first line supervisor with Bell South for thirty-three years before his retirement. He was also an ordained Baptist minister for eighteen years. W.C. enjoyed the times of working his farm, taking care of his cattle, horses, swine and cutting hay. He was preceded in death of his wife, Shelvia Jean Sweat Grant and mother, Eula Mae Grant.

Survivors are two daughters, Vicki Confer of Blue Ridge and Wanda Wolfe (Gary) of McCaysville; grandchildren, Dillon Pickard (Mallory), Rebecca Spence and James Wolfe (Kenna); great-grandchildren, Abby Pickard, Carter Grant Pickard, Bronwyn Jones (Dalton), Henry Wolfe, Knox Puckett, Reed Puckett and Jack Puckett.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge with Rev. Daniel Postell officiating. Music was by Judy Hicks. Interment followed at the Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening March 25, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinscobb.com.
