Mr. William "Bill" Braisted Galbraith, II, age 70, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on September 15, 2016. Born in Port St. Joe, FL, he was the son of the late William Braisted Galbraith and Dorothy MacGregor Galbraith. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a Police Officer who worked for the Boynton Beach, FL Police Department for twenty one years. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Palm Beach and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was also preceded by his son-in-law, Ted Gregory.Survivors include his wife of 49 years of marriage, Patsy Galbraith; daughters and son-in-law, April Galbraith of West Palm Beach, FL, Tanya Gregory of Mineral Bluff, GA and Theresa and William Cook of Rockmart, GA; grand daughter, Jacqueline Gregory; sister and brother-in-law, Bette and Bill Peterson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darvin Couch officiating. Music will be provided by Rachel Cowart. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be William Cook, Paul Anderson, Bill Peterson, Gregg Junnier, Troy Junnier and Leon Traylor. Members of the City of Boynton, FL Police Department will serve as an honorary escort. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to help defray final expenses.
