Mr. William Oscar Cox, age 80 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday August 17, 2008 in the Blue Ridge Health Care Center. Born in Fannin County he was the son of the late Stewart A. Sr. and Hazel Welch Cox. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Baptist Church and a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by an infant son William Robert Cox and two brothers Clifford Cox and Mac Arthur Cox. Survivors include his wife Dorothy "Dotty" Cox of Blue Ridge, GA; children and their spouses, Rosemary (Richard) Warren of Blue Ridge, GA, Michael (Denise) Cox of Blue Ridge, GA, David (Brenda) Cox of Blue Ridge, GA, Daniel (Carole) of Talking Rock, GA, Joey Cox of Blue Ridge, GA, and Karri (Justin) Bowen of Englewood, FL; brothers and sister-in-laws, James and Lynn Cox of Blue Ridge, GA, Gene and Vida Cox of Blue Ridge, GA, Stewart Cox, Jr. and Lily also of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters and brother-in-laws, Geraldine and Lloyd Hicks of Blue Ridge, GA, Dorothy and Bradley Davis of Mineral Bluff, GA; grandchildren, Nathan, Kayla, Chris, Chrystal, Caitlan, Marissa, Kim, Karri, Kelli, and Baylee; great grandchildren, Josh, Gabe, Cammie, Dakota, Sydnie and Ty; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. Billy Ray Queen officiating. Music was provided by David Anderson. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Michael Cox, David Cox, Daniel Cox, Joey Cox, Nathan Cox and Chris Cox. The following gentlemen served as honorary pallbearers: Richard Warren, Jordan Tkacsik, and Jason Lunsford.
