William Dale Buchanan, age 63, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA. Mr. Buchanan was born in Fannin County, GA on Feburary 4, 1948. He worked as a carpenter, and was a member of Mineral Bluff Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his father Glen Buchanan. He is survived by two sons, Ryan Dale Buchanan and his wife Mandy of Dallas, GA and Heath Bryson Buchanan of Dallas, GA; mother, Nancy Buchanan of Mineral Bluff; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Buchanan of Canton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Larry Cruse of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Peyton Buchanan and Logan Buchanan. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Music was by Lucie McKinney. Pallbearers were Phil Rogers, Benny Cole, Jim Nichols, David Turner, Jimmy Hopkins, and Brett Buchanan. Interment followed in Toccoa Cemetery.
