William "Bill" Everett

June 19, 1937 – May 1, 2023
Mr. William Everett "Bill" Patterson, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away at his home on May 1, 2023. He was born in Dearborn, MI on June 19,1937 to the late Clyde Alvin and Ruth Beulah Tatum Patterson. Bill had previously worked for the Tennessee Chemical Company, but later retired from the City of Blue Ridge working for over 18 years as a Water Plant Operator. He was a long time and devoted member of Lebanon Baptist Church serving in various capacities including Deacon, Sunday School Director, and Discipleship Trainer. Bill also was an avid deer hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, J.D. Patterson and Bob Patterson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Shelby Jones Patterson of the home; sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Patterson, Matthew and Rhonda Patterson, and Rodney Patterson all of Blue Ridge; daughter, Joy Dawn Patterson of Seattle, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Al and Margaret Patterson of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Tamra (Michael) Head, Tyler Patterson and William Patterson; and great grandchildren, Addison, Cooper, and Hazel Head.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Wellham and Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music will be provided by Carol Thomas. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Michael Head, Tyler Patterson, William Patterson, Richard Rymer, Tony Henson and Larry Goss. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Robert Sosbee, Aubrey Thomas, Johnny Queen, Larry Payne, Kenny Queen, Tim Hawkins, Ed Hawkins, Bob Mathis, and Donald Curtis. The family will be receiving friends at Lebanon Baptist Church on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Flowers are acceptable; however, the family request that memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Patterson be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 309 Epworth, GA 30541.
