Mr. William Edward Barclay, better known as "Buck", age 86, passed away on December 15, 2022 in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. He was born in McCaysville, GA on August 6, 1936 to the late Walter Edward and Irene Wright Barclay. He retired from the United States Navy after serving during the Vietnam Era. Buck also worked as a Deputy for the Fannin County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of the Mobile Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy White Barclay.

Survivors include his brother, Robert "Bob" Barclay of Ball Ground, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Sonny Townsend of Florence, AL; step daughter, Pat Wilhoit, step-son, Paul Millsaps; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Edward Barclay, Robert Barclay, Jr., Patrick and Christy Townsend, Michelle and Chuck Jones and Andrea and John Kidd; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow later in the Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinscobb.com.
