Mrs. Willa Nell Edwards, age 91 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. She was born on Friday, July 7, 1922 in Fannin County to the late Luther and Hattie Chastain Thomas. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Edwards; son, Michael Edwards; daughter, Vivian Vondell Pelfrey; sisters, Cleo Johnson, Grady Ray, and Gertrude Whitlow; and brothers, Woodrow Thomas and Willard Thomas. She is survived by a son, Lamar Edwards of Douglasville, GA; brother, Rev. J.D. Thomas of Rydal, GA; sister, Ruby Bennett of Blue Ridge, GA; one grandchild and two great grandchildren also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Harold Weeks officiating. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Frank Pless, Steve Bennett, Sammy Bennett, Steve Huffman, Andy Huffman and Benny Thomas.
