Mr. Wilburn Louis, better known as "Louie" Reynolds, age 63, of Epworth, GA passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2009 in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born in Athens, GA, Louie graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1969 and later attended Kennesaw College. He retired from the Clorox Company in Forest Park, GA after thirty one and one half years of service. After moving to Epworth, GA he became a raft guide on the Ocoee River for Wildwater Rafting Co. Louie was a member of the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association, Georgia Canoe Association, The American Canoe Association, and the USA Canoe and Kayak Association. He served as a whitewater judge in the 1996 Olympics and continued to serve as a National Certified Judge at many whitewater events. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Hobby Reynolds; and two siblings, Kay Johnson and Steve Reynolds. Survivors include his loving wife of forty one years, Beverly Reynolds of Epworth, GA; two children, Todd Reynolds of Epworth, GA and Sheri Reynolds of Concord, NC; father, Dewey Reynolds of Ashburn, GA; one brother, Bob Reynolds of Conroy, TX; two sisters, Libby Reynolds of Ashburn, GA and Margaret Reynolds of Mableton, GA; two grandchildren, Bethany Reynolds and Brittany Kirby; and many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Louie's life will be Saturday May 9, at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends during the hours of 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
