Mr. Wilburn John Jones, age 81, of Blue Ridge, GA died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Jones and Bessie Foster Jones. Mr. Jones was employed by Patterson Lumber Company and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers Clinton and Wildon Jones, sisters Wanda Sue Patterson and Ovie Baines, daughter-in-law Kathy Brown Jones and Grandson, Derek Jones.He is survived by his wife Martha (Payne) Jones of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Randy Beach of Blue Ridge; two sons, Eddie Jones and Kenny Jones both of Blue Ridge; three sisters, Oralee McClure, Aileen Sharp and Lula Martin all of Dalton, GA; one brother, Wayne Jones of Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Ed O'Neal, Rev. John Newton, and Rev. Jeremy Hedden officiating. Interment followed in Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Allen, Carl O'Neal, Kevin O'Neal, Danny Ensley, Newell O'Neal, and Hoyt Payne. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Lloyd Deal, Leaman Davenport, Harrison Norton, Jackie Huffman, Danny Patterson, Ebby O'Neal, Eddie O'Neal, and Joey O'Neal. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
