Wayne Leon Lawrence, age 88, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his home. Mr. Lawrence was born in Homestead, FL on October 9, 1927 to the late Lester Edwin Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Bridges Lawrence. He was owner of Lawrence Oil and the Rebel's Pantry for many years. Mr. Lawrence was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army and was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lawrence.He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Janice Lawrence of Blue Ridge; daughters, Melanie Twiggs of Blue Ridge and Leslie Lawrence and her fianc' Myke Carroll of Blue Ridge; cousin, Margie Brown and her daughter, Dana Jane; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.A memorial graveside was conducted on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Friendship #3 Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Postell officiating.
