The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Wayne Charles Ballew, age 74, of Ducktown, TN who passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Wayne was a son of the late Floyd and Barbara Mae Jones Ballew. He was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by brothers, Murnice Ballew and Tommy Sharp. He is survived by brother Rocky (Linda) Ballew of Cleveland, TN; five sisters, Joyce (Manker) Allen of Farner, TN, Geraldine (Jerry) Sledge of Cleveland, TN, Doris (Charles) Beavers of McCaysville, GA, Cecilia (Danny) Payne of Ducktown, TN, Maxine (Champ) Prince of Copperhill, TN; Special friends, Jim Proctor and Novella Goss. Nieces, Nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday evening, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Montgomery officiating. Music will be by Ann Prince. Pallbearers include Champ Prince, Jerry Sledge, Zachary Pope, Jeremiah Allen, Mark Allen and David Love. Interment will follow in the Mobile cemetery.
