Wanda Collins, age 81, of McCaysville, GA passed away on February 13, 2018. To those who knew her, she was a spitfire and to those who loved her she was so much more. She was a loving caregiver and a talented seamstress who always provided for her family. She was a career woman who even tried her hand at entrepreneurship. She was the oldest of nine children which only primed her to be a wonderful mother to her three children and a devoted "Nanny" for her 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those she left behind and beautifully remembered by her friends and family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Collins; son, John Todd Jr.; brother, Jimmy Pruitt; and sisters, Phyllis Nixon and Helen Pruitt. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jeffie and Gene Barnes, Tony and Shellie Todd and daughter-in-law, Patti Todd; step children, Terry Collins and Shelly and Roger Bell; sister, Marlene Reed; brothers and their spouses, Kenneth and Vivian Pruitt, Pete and Judy Pruitt, Herman and Janice Pruitt and Dennis Pruitt; grandchildren, Amber, Casey, Brandi, Kristin, Holli, Ryan, Corey, Ami and Travis; great grandchildren, Naomi, Lexi, C.J., Emma, Keaton, Kade, Gabby, Tyndel, Hannah, Christian, and Dallas.Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Kristin Barnes. Interment will follow in the Friendship #2 Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Roger Bell, W.C. Collins, Bobby King, Ray Loudermilk, William McKune, and Andy Ware. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Pruitt, Pete Pruitt, Herman Pruitt and Dennis Pruitt.
