Mr. Wade Junior Curtis, age 76 of Epworth, GA passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was born on September 1, 1933 to the late James Edward and Lona Boggs Curtis in Cherokee County, NC. Mr. Curtis was owner and operator of Wade Curtis Service Station in McCaysville for over thirty years. He was a member of the McCaysville Church of God. Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by brothers; Wayne, Junior, and Charles Curtis; sister; Earlene Curtis and daughter-in-law Ruth Curtis. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Floy Curtis of Epworth; two sons, David Curtis of Epworth and Donald and wife, Cheryl Curtis of Epworth; daughter, Virginia Curtis of Blue Ridge; three brothers, Bobby Curtis of Epworth, James Curtis of McCaysville and Rev. Max Curtis of Mineral Bluff, GA; two sisters, Marilyn Stillwell of Canton, GA and Carolyn Anderson of Epworth; six grandchildren, Jonathan and wife, Jeri Curtis, Rev. Joshua and wife, Ashley Curtis, Jeremy and wife, Amy Curtis, Matthew Curtis, Laura Curtis and Danny and wife, Misty Walden, and five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the McCaysville Church of God with Rev. Joshua Curtis and Rev. Steve Lamb officiating. Music was by Valerie Taylor. Interment followed in the Barnes Chapel Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Danny Walden, Jonathan Curtis, Jeremy Curtis, Rev. Joshua Curtis, Matthew Curtis, Otis Melton and Max Housley. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Mahmood Siddiqui, Kenneth Stuart, Sr., Men of McCaysville Church of God and Kenneth Stuart, Jr. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
