Vivian Marie Hughes, age 89, of Rainbow City, Alabama passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at her home. She was born on February 14, 1935 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late George Reid and Edith Kilpatrick Reid. Vivian was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Turtletown, Tennessee, where in previous years she served as secretary and pianist. She loved working in the yard, fishing, and was always known for her outgoing spirit, which led her to hosting an arts and crafts festival for a number of years. In the 1970's, Vivian and her beloved husband, Ken, opened their store "Ken and Vivs" that they owned and operated for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Kennith Edward Hughes; brothers, Clyde Reid and Edward Reid; sisters, Virginia Reid Hughes and Dorothy Reid Rogers; niece, Debbie Shuler, and nephew, David Blackwell.

She is survived by her son, Keith Hughes of Rainbow City, AL; grandchildren, Kevin Matthew Hughes and Jamie Elijah Hughes; great-grandchildren, Mason Hughes, Isaac Hughes, and Enola Cooper; sister, Geneva McFarland of Cleveland, TN; nieces and nephews, Reid Blackwell, Joseph Blackwell, Sandra Hughes Abernathy, Sheryl Hughes, Claude Rogers, Barbara Sparicino, Caryl Rogers, and Ed Reid; many other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Sam Morrow officiating. Interment followed in the Turtletown Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Roger Shuler, Dennis Ledford, Kevin Hughes, Isaac Hughes, Mason Hughes, and Chester Baird.
