Virginia (Gin) Watson Burger, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family. Gin was born in Atlanta, GA to the late LeRoy Lee and Maxie Mae Seignious.

Gin has lived a life of service and volunteerism. In her early career she was the Director of Meetings and Conventions for the General Federation of Women's Club and then the National Industrial Transportation League. Both located in the Washington, DC area.

Upon retirement, she and her daughter relocated to the North Georgia Mountains. While residing there she continued her dedication to volunteerism by serving as President of the Auxiliary at CBMC for many years. Volunteering with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the USO at the Atlanta Airport, the annual Cherry Log Festival and one of the founding members of the community meal in McCaysville, GA, as well as many other organizations throughout her life.

She also enjoyed occasionally co-hosting the Cherie Show with Cherie Dobbs Martin.

She is survived by a son, Doug (Adora) Mauborgne, a daughter, Michele Watson, brother Wilson (Shawne) Seignious, nieces Christa McDearis and Melissa (Steve Campbell) Arnold, and special lifelong friends Debbie (Mike) Carrington of California and Leigh (Tom) Wintz Lundquist of Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Burger.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from Epworth First Baptist Church.
