The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the home going of Vicki Lee Bice, age 63, of Copperhill, TN who went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2012 at her home. Vicki was born in McCaysville, GA to the late Wayne Gerald and Ruth Elizabeth Johnston Bice. She was employed with the United States Postal Service for twenty plus years and was the current Post Mistress at the Epworth Post Office where she served her community with a spirit of kindness and helpfulnes. Vicki had touched the lives of many people with her God given talent of playing the piano, singing, composing songs and accompaning the group Victory's Song. She served for many years, as a member of First Baptist Church Epworth, as a faithful servant in the music ministry and as a dedicated Sunday School teacher before becoming a faithful member and pianist at Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Vicki enjoyed reading, especially the Bible.She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Melinda Briant of Copperhill, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law , Lawrence and Ann Bice of Foster, KY and Lowell and Wanda Bice of Copperhill, TN; close friend, John Barker of Copperhill, TN; grandchildren, Brittney Obenshaine, Tiffanie Briant, Brandon and Dalton Montgomery; nieces, Joanna Bice and Denise Carr; nephews, Joe Bice and Kevin Bice; special music students, Kimberly Galloway and Savannah Barker.Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. G.W. Mathis and Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music will be by Rev. Denise Caldwell. Interment will follow in Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may made be made to Gideons International, Blue Ridge Camp, P.O.
