Obituary

Vernette S. Carringer, age 77 of Winter Springs, graduated to Heaven to be with her Savior on Thursday morning, December 31, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Copper Hill, TN in 1943. She had a strong faith and was a dedicated wife and mother. Vernette was committed to motherhood and desired that her children were raised to love the Lord and be active in church. When her sons reached high school she actively worked in her husbands furniture stores and furniture markets. She also took various jobs to support her family and create fun opportunities for her children and grandchildren. A believer and follower of Jesus Christ, she was faithful to her church and loved to visit and take shut-ins and elderly out to lunch and meet needs. She was generous to give and loved kids. Another highlight for her was family gatherings and meals, especially Christmas. Vernette, known as "MEME" to her grandchildren, lived to spend time with them and loved them dearly! She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carringer; parents, Homer and Eunice Ensley; brother, Kenneth Ensley; sisters, Lorella Higdon, Nora Ensley, Wanda Stiles and her twin sister Wonette Ensley. She is survived by her sons, Rex (Christy) Carringer and Mike (Christy) Carringer; sister, Shelby Parker; brothers, Wesley Ensley and Ralph Ensley; grandchildren, Nicole (Nathan) Pitts, Keith (Bethany) Carringer, Kurt (Rylee) Carringer, Luke (Olivia) Carringer, Hannah Carringer and Stephen Carringer; great grandchildren, Mavrick Pitts, Elliana Carringer, Shaylee Pitts, Ashton Carringer, Natalie Carringer, Taryn Pitts and Avonlea Carringer.A Celebration of Life Service and viewing were conducted on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Starlight Baptist Church, 350 Hayes Road, Winter Springs, Florida. Interment followed at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Forrest City, Florida. Conducting the services were her two sons and pastor Dr. Glenn Riggs.
