Ulysses Hayden Taylor Jr. (Bud)
October 29, 1939 - May 21, 2025
Bud Taylor, age 85, of Ducktown, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born on October 29, 1939, in Ducktown, TN.
A devoted member of Mine City Baptist Church, Bud enjoyed his time with family and friends. Bud devoted 5 years of service to Georgia Power Company but knew during that time he had to get back to Ducktown, TN. He dedicated over 20 plus years of his life to Sears, where he worked as Service Technician for the tri-state area. He ended his working career at Preferred Oxygen where he served as Equipment Technician serving the area 10 plus years.
Bud is survived by his son Greg (Vickie) Taylor; his daughter Sandi (Eddie) Cole; his grandchildren, Daniel Taylor and Kyra (Tyler) Webb; and his great-granddaughter Taylyn Webb. He is also survived by his brothers Tom (Linda) Taylor, Danny Taylor, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Bud's legacy of service, faith, and hospitality will continue to inspire and comfort those he leaves behind. Known for his perfectly groomed yard on the corner in Ducktown, it always brought a smile to his face when people at church or the community would brag on his yard.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Mine City Baptist Church, with Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. Music was provided by Becky Harris, Pat Smith, and David Bigham. Interment followed at Zion Hill Cemetery. The Pallbearers were Jeff Taylor, Alan Taylor, Jeff Patterson, Dwight Dilbeck, Doug Collins, and L.W. Smith. The family received friends and loved ones at Mine City Baptist Church on Friday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
