Ulyss Paul Mashburn, age 72, of Farner, TN passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 in the LifeCare Center of Copper Basin. Mr. Mashburn was born in McCaysville, GA on September 6, 1947 to the late Pearlie Jackson Mashburn and Dora Lou Allen Mashburn. He worked in maintenance for the City of Ducktown and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Mashburnwas preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Mashburn; sister, Ola Mae Mashburn; and stepfather, Thomas Craig. He is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Clarence "Cotton" Mashburn of Farner, TN, Douglas and Minnie Mashburn, of Farner, TN, and Gary Mashburn of Meigs County, TN; his sister, Margaret Farner of Farner, TN; cousin and good friend, Harold Allen; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many other relatives and friends also survive. Graveside services were conducted Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. from Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Allen officiating. Music will be by Tony Wooten and Richard Freeman. Pallbearers will be: Joshua Perkins, Joshua Mashburn, Joseph Taylor, Jeffery Mashburn, Nicolas Maxwell, and Brett Mashburn. Honorary pallbearers will be: Pearly Mashburn, Stacey Mashburn, Jessie Mashburn, and Matthew Guffey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 1:30 until time 3:30 for the procession to leave going to Liberty Cemetery for the Graveside Service at 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
