Tommy Albert Waters, age 88 of Dalton, Ga passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1936 in Fannin County, GA to the late George Waters and Bessie Payne Waters. Tommy was a retired truck driver for Shaw Industries. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, GA. Tommy loved hunting, fishing and mowing the grass. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Waters; brothers, Jessie Waters, Lester Waters, Charlie Waters, Herbert Waters, Melvin Waters, and Roy Waters; and sisters, Annie Queen, Jean Harrison, Dorothy Lewis, and Evon Rymer.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret Jean Waters of Dalton, GA; sister, Lorene Pless of Chatsworth, GA; daughter-in-law, Rita Waters, of Cohutta, GA; grandson, Clayton Waters of Cohutta, GA; many other family and friends also survived.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. John Newton officiating. Music will be by the Kenny O'Neal Family. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold West, Clayton Waters, Edwin Patterson, Richard Deal, Calvin Allen and Harold Allen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, March 24, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Travis Couch, 93 Couch Drive, McCaysville, GA 30555.
