Mr. Tommy Lynn Mitchell, age 71, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at Heritage Health Care center in Blue Ridge, GA. Born in Polk County, TN, he was the son of the late Roy and Dorothy Thomas Mitchell. He was a retired machinist having worked for the Tennessee Chemical Company and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Copperhill, TN. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses; Angie Mitchell and Tim Brown of Memphis, TN and Rhonda and Tracy Smith of Snellville, GA; two grandchildren, Maria and Alex Bouloukos special friend, Carolyn Thomas; one brother and his wife, James and Peggy Mitchell of Smyrna, GA, and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday June 27, at 1:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Copperhill, TN with Rev. David Anderson and Rev. Max Caylor officiating. Music will be provided by Kristi Thomas and Sherry Stallings. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery with following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Dennis Loudermilk, Ted Weaver, Tom Eads, Barry Thomas, Jeff Lanter and Leland Rymer. The Men's Club at First United Methodist Church of Copperhill will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mr. Mitchell May be made to the Scholarship Fund at First UMC of Copperhill, TN at 146 Scenic Dr. Copperhill, TN 37317.
