Tommy Cheek, age 79, of Resaca, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in Calhoun, Georgia at Advent Health Gordon. He was born on December 15, 1944 in Turtletown, Tennessee to the late Rassie Woodrow Cheek, Sr. and Sally Kimsey Cheek. Tommy honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was also a member and Past Master of Coosawattee Lodge #306 F&AM, where he served as past master. Tommy retired from General Motors in Hapeville, GA after 27 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Loudermilk Cheek; and sister, Jerry Runion.

Tommy is survived by his beloved children, Thomas Woodroew Cheek of Canton, GA and Charles Edward Cheek (Lynette) of Murphy, NC; two grandchildren, Brittan Exum and Radford Cheek; two step-grandchildren, Ethen Dunn and Kody Dunn; siblings, John Cheek (Clairetta), Larry Cheek, Rassie Cheek, Jr. (Wanda), and Ronnie Cheek; many other dear relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Howard officiating. Masonic Rites will be provided by Ducktown Lodge #241 F&AM. Serving as pallbearers will be: Lynn Cheek, Derek Cheek, Doug Cheek, Leslie Cheek, Eddie Cheek, Randall Wilcox, and Russell Loudermilk.

The family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Cheek be made to the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Mitchell Loudermilk, 1780 Donley Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
