Mr. Timothy Neal Smith, age 53, of Turtletown, TN, passed away on September 15, 2020 in the Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. He was born in Copperhill, TN, to the late Edmond Grady Smith and Joy Glee Stiles Smith. He was a proud veteran serving both in the United States Marine Corps and Army. Tim was working as a construction General Foreman for TVA. He was of the Baptist faith and loved camping and fishing in his spare time. Tim also loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He previously had served in Law Enforcement in different capacities in the tri-state area. Survivors include his spouse, Linda Franklin; children, Isaac Smith, Brandon (Savanah Barker) Smith, Sarah and Drew Payne and Delilah Ownbey; brother, Randy Stiles; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Jay Lawson, Twila and Gary Taylor and Tammy and Terry John Campbell; grandchildren, Carter Johnson and Elsa Payne; several nieces and nephews; and canine companions Foxy and Ruthie. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Allen and Rev. Drew Payne officiating. A Eulogy was provided by Terry John Campbell. Music was provided by Janice Reid and Rev. Drew Payne. Interment followed in the Turtletown Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors was provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Kier Pajak, Bryan Taylor, Gary Taylor, Terry John Campbell, Keith Barker and Thomas Wray. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Knuckles, Daryl Tankersley, Jason Baldwin, Billy Jo Akins and Jay Lawson. For those desiring, donations may be made to help defray final expenses.
