Timothy William Backus, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 28, 1939 in Jamestown, NY to the late Willam Asa Backus and Inez Viola Erickson Backus. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Karen Backus; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and James Madarasz; and three grandchildren, Christopher Madarasz, Daniel Madarasz, and Gabrielle Madarasz.A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Backus was conducted Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 823 Forge Mill Road Morganton, GA 30560 with Pastor Jim Kroninger officiating. In lieu of flowers, it was suggested that memorial contributions be made to Healing Hands Community Clinic, P.O. Box 2143 Blairsville, GA 30514, where Mr. Backus served as Chaplain.
