Thomas Elbert "Elb" Rhodes, age 79, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 28, 1942 to the late John Rhodes and Velmer Cole Rhodes. Elb was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Heather and Richard Gazaway; and sisters, Daisy Goddard, Mary Jackson, and Kathleen Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Rhodes; daughters, Glenda (Wayne) Stover and Tonya (Nickie) Brown; son, Junior Rhodes; sons(grandsons), Bryson Setser and Bradley (Lindsey) Setser; brother, Harold Rhodes; sister; Judy (John) Stewart; grandchildren, David Stover, Nichaelia Rhodes, Toby Deyton, and J.T. Thrasher; and great-grandchildren, Skylar and Riley Gazaway. The family would like to specially thank Morgan Thomas, Mike Huff, and the entire Pruitt Hospice team. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:30 AM in the Sunrise Tabernacle Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Merrell officiating. Pallbearers will be Bryson Setser, Bradley Setser, David Stover, J.T. Thrasher, Merrel Jackson, Eric Watson, Harley Mann, and Trent Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Rhodes, Jerry Dockery, Wayne Stover, and Nickie Brown. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
