Thomas "Harvey" Norton, age 66, of McCaysville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1958 in Fannin County, Georgia to the late Audrey Ritchie.

Harvey was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed raising his game chickens and his time spent playing billiards at the local gathering. He loved watching the Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, and listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Harvey is survived by his daughter, Jennifer McGill (Franklin); grandchildren, Katie Wright (Jonah) and Brittany Norton (Chandler Sampson); great-grandchildren, Noah Wright, Liam Wright, Tinley Wright, and Dallas Sampson; siblings, Bill Ritchie (Nancy) and Tammy Brooks (Sam); nieces and nephews, Billy Brooks (Julie), Rachel Brooks, Hannah Ritchie, and Megan Butler (Cody); great-nephews, Augustus Brooks and Sawyer Brooks; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music was provided by Hannah Green. Interment will be held at a later date in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were Harvey's special friends from the local gathering. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Monday, prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
