Thomas Wesley Locke, age 92, of McCaysville, GA passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Mr. Locke was a son of the late Francis Marion and Dollie Payne Locke and was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII and was a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Payne Locke and a son, Eugene Locke.He is survived by two sons, Charles and wife Clydetta Locke of Copperhill, TN, Glenn and wife Teresa Locke of McCaysville, GA; two brothers, Oscar Locke of Portage, IN, Marion Locke of Copperhill, TN; two sisters, Mattie Lowery and Merlene Hughes, both of McCaysville, GA; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 27th at 2:00 PM from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Music was by the Hoyt Payne family. Pallbearers included Ed Cantrell, Robbie Locke, Lowell Bice, Hoyt Payne, Johnny Barker, Waylon O'Neal and Scott Barker. Honorary Pallbearers included Doug Pulliam, Randall Barnes, Roger Pulliam, Ronnie Pulliam, Ebbie O'Neal and Billy O'Neal. Interment followed in the Mt. View Baptist Church cemetery.
