The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Thomas Howard Linderman, age 82, of Turtletown, TN who passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Howard was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Earl Taylor and Mabel Hamby Linderman. He was retired from the Tennessee Copper Company where he worked as an operator at London Mill . He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he worked in special projects in Infrared Testing and was also a tank mechanic.He was of the church of God Faith. He is survived by son, Gary Linderman of Ducktown, TN; four daughters, Janet Swallows of Turtletown, TN, Joy (James) Stillwell of Ducktown, TN, Michelle (Mark) Patterson of McCaysville, GA and Betty Ann (Dexter)Womble of Turtletown, TN; sister, Gladys Mendilla of Ft. Pierce, FL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 29, at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. G.W . Mathis and Rev.Mark Reid officiating. Music will be by Janice Reid and Deloris Gibbs. Grandsons serving as pallbearers include Matthew Cole, Ryan Stillwell, Grant Stillwell, Jeff Barker, Manuel Patterson and Cole Barker. Interment will follow in the Spurling cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
