Mr. Thomas "Tom" Courtney Hollingsworth, age 82, of Farner, TN, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009, at his home. He was a native of Mecklenburg County, NC, son of the late Chauncey David and Kate Nell Gregory Hollingsworth. He was a retired Life insurance salesman with the Independent Life Insurance Company, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Farner Presbyterian Church.He is survived by his loving wife Myrtle Irene Rose Hollingsworth of the home; two sons, Tony Hollingsworth of Omaha, NE, and Dan Hollingsworth of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Jacqueline Dunn of Hampton, VA and Patricia Osborne of Morehead City, NC; sister-in-law, Betty Hollingsworth of Collins, MS, four grandchildren, Laura, Anna, Ryan, and Danielle Rose Hollingsworth. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 4 at 2:00 PM from the Farner Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wayne Carter officiating. Music will be by Nancy Boss and Linda Ledford. Pallbearers will be Leroy Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Ted Boss, Shawn Key, Clint Ingle, Greg Dean and Kent Payne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lawrence Hyatt, Allen McBrayer, Charles Long, Ray Dean, Geneva Hyatt and Albert Caruso. Interment will be at Farner Presbyterian Cemetery.
