Thomas "Tom" Hicks Green, age 83, of Copperhill passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Tom was born on May 17, 1941 in McCaysville to the late James Green and Elsie Kaylor Green. He worked for 32 years as a miner for the Tennessee Copper Company, and later, as a truck driver. Tom lived life to the fullest, never being afraid to try anything new. He will always be remembered for his story telling abilities. Tom was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans. He enjoyed flying, also traveling with his wife, Faye. Tom loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Elsie Green; son, Michael Lane Green; brother, Melvin Green; and sisters, Mary Ann Brown and Elizabeth Allen.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Faye Green of the home; children, David J. (Erica) Green of Ducktown, Pam (Matt) Urse of Morgantown, WV, Robert (Schelane) Threet of Florence, AL, Patricia Diana Williams of Hiwassee Dam, and Teresa Ann Threet of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Kyle Green, Alania Drescher, Madison Green, Tyler Ramsey, Courtney Raper Greer, Beth (Kareen) White, Olivia Urse, Hunter Williams, Tripp Threet, Christopher (Jessica) Threet, and Jonathan Threet; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Willie (Monnie) Green of Postelle; brother-in-law, Todd Brown of Dalton, GA; and special caregivers, Autumn and Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Kevin Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie Green, David Green, Matt Urse, Tyler Ramsey, Tim Caylor, and Jody Caylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Beth White, Madison Green, Olivia Urse, Alaina Drescher, and Courtney Raper Greer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Green can be made to the Ducktown Basin Museum at P.O. Box 458 Ducktown, TN 37326.
