Thomas Tafton Godsey, age 66 of Copperhill, TN passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Godsey was born in Double Springs, Alabama and was a retired truck driver and later a bartender for the last twenty years. He was preceded in death by his father, Elzo Godsey, daughter, Cindy Burke, brothers, Carroll"Bud", Glenn Allan and Jimmy Godsey and sister, Betty Godsey. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Mae Jones Godsey; sons, Johnny Godsey and Boyce Godsey; daughter, Sonja Godsey; brother, Morris Godsey and Warren Godsey; sisters, Carolyn Pipkins, Linda Yeager, Jane Valasquez and Mary Godsey. Seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 9, 2009 from the Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville, AL with Brother Alvis Treece officiating.
