Thomas Morton Cannaday, age 85, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born in West Virginia to the late Wilbur Cannaday and Catherine Louise McCallister Cannaday. Tommy served in the United States Navy for 21 years, including tours during the Vietnam War. He attended Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Davis Cannaday.
He is survived by his sons, Bill Cannaday and wife, Rose Cannaday, William Armstrong III, and Robert Armstrong and wife, Jan Armstrong; daughters, Renee Talley and husband, Robert Talley, Alisha Hucks, Janet Moore and husband, Stephen Moore, Betty Ann Foster and husband, Wayne Foster, and Mary K. Riggs and significant other, Bobby Garland; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Akins-Cobb Funerals and Cremations Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Steven Dalton officiating. Full military honors were presented by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
